Carlos Castro (1780-1844) was a Prasian military general and Prime Minister between 1833-1835 and September-December 1844. Castro headed the military when he deposed Juan Ramos Costilla in order to restore stability to the government. A popular revolt spread in opposition to his rule and he was deposed, fleeing to Chile. He returned to Prasia and resumed his role as general under Felipe Luna, but in 1844 he deposed and had Luna executed. Moderate military officers had him arrested and executed in December 1844.
Castro was married to Isabela Reyes, who came from Traspes. They would have two sons who lived in Peru.
