The Liberal Party (Spanish: Partido Liberal) is a former Prasian political party, active and hugely influential throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The party mainly pursued an economically centrist, socially liberal policy throughout most of its history. However, under the leaderships of Jose Ramon Mendoza and Jorge Fuentes during the 1960s and 1970s, the party saw moving itself further towards the left, a period which saw many members of the party defecting to the Conservative Centrist Party. The party disbanded in 1973, when its remaining factions, most of whom were leftist and progressive, merged with the Socialist Party to form the Social Democratic Party.
