Pontecesures is a town in Zamora, Prasia on the south coast of Zamora Island, with a population of 9,520. Pontecesures is the second largest settlement in Zamora and the local economy is primarily based around agriculture and fishing.
Much of Zamora's sizeable Galician speaking community is centred around Pontecesures and the town holds an annual St. James' Day parade, which is a popular event within the town. Events in the town's Galician speaking community in the 1980 were dramatised in the 2009 film, Señora Yanes.
