The Social Democratic Party leadership election, 2014 was triggered by the resignation of Alonso Sanchez as Prime Minister and leader of the Social Democratic Party on September 16, 2014. The election was won by Cristian Ramirez.
Nominations for the election began on September 17 and closed on September 21. The election then took place on September 24. Cristian Ramirez then became party leader and Prime Minister on September 26, the day that Sanchez officially relinquished these duties.
